2024 Cadillac Ct5-V Blackwing Specs, Redesign, Price

2024 Cadillac Ct5-V Blackwing Specs, Redesign, PriceThe Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is the last surviving member of a rapidly vanishing breed. It’s a four-door luxury sports car around the same size as the BMW M3 and M5. It has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine with 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque, and it solely drives the back wheels. As a bonus, a manual transmission is included, but a ten-speed automatic transmission is also available. With the later information, it will reach 60 mph in under 3.4 seconds.

Even if it goes by a separate name, the CT5-V Blackwing is the rightful successor to that performance powerhouse. The new car has the same supercharged V-8 engine as the previous model, but Cadillac is betting on its revamped styling and updated interior to deliver excellent performance. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, BMW M3, and Mercedes-AMG C63 are all capable of dealing with the Blackwing.

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will be redesigned in 2024.

The CT5-V Blackwing sedan is the newest addition to the CT5 family. It all comes down to two things. Despite its supercharged V8 producing 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, it’s first and foremost a competitor for the BMW M3. Among the features are Magnetic Ride Control, a five-link rear suspension, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Its second aim is to be one of the last gasps of the internal combustion. GM recently declared that all of its vehicles would be electric by 2035.

Another example of the best decade in automotive history is the CT5-V. Now that internal combustion engines are on their way out, manufacturers do everything they can to prepare. In 2024, Cadillac is introducing the CT5-V Blackwing, a brand-new performance sedan. The Cadillac CT5-V is now just a sportier version of the regular CT5, while the Blackwing we’re looking at is the brand’s all-out hyper-performance variant.

Interior

The inside of the CT5-V Blackwing is almost the same as the inside of the regular CT5. There are a few model-specific things, like carbon fiber inlays, that are different. Surround-view cameras, a head-up display, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch high-definition touchscreen display are some things you may think you’ll find. Standard is Jet Black performance leather seats, but there’s also a broad selection of high-performance bucket seats made of quality materials.

Even though the wheelbase is only an inch longer than comparable executive sports sedans, Cadillac claims this is a compact luxury contender. Regardless of how you glance at it, the client is the one who benefits. The Caddy has 42.4 inches of front legroom and 37.9 inches of back legroom. The front headroom is 39 inches, but it tapers off from the B-pillar backward due to the CT5’s distinctive form. Still, 36.6 inches in the back is more than adequate for ordinary people.

Engine

The engine chosen by Cadillac for the CT5-V Blackwing is pure Americana. Cadillac uses a 1.7-liter Eaton supercharger and a 6.2L V8 engine instead of dual turbos. It’s simply a more powerful version of the V8 featured in the CTS-V. DESPITE THE NAME, the CT5-V Blackwing isn’t powered by the CT6-V’s now-discontinued twin-turbo Blackwing V-8. Instead, the CTS-supercharged V’s 6.2-liter V-8 with 668 horsepower is connected to a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Because the CT5-V Blackwing is meant to be fast, it is a responsive sedan that can also be set up to ride smoothly. In our testing, the CT5-V Blackwing reached 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds with the six-speed manual transmission; we expect it to come to 60 mph in as little as 3.4 seconds with the optional automatic transmission.

Cadillac Ct5-V Blackwing Release Date and Price in 2024

The CT5-V Blackwing with a six-speed manual transmission has $83,995. The cost of a ten-speed automatic transmission is $87,170. These prices do not include the $995 destination fee.
