2024 Cadillac Xt6 Interior, Changes, Redesign – Only two years old, the XT6 is one of Cadillac’s most recent offerings. Outside, it’s one of the most attractive midsize SUVs available. However, the cabin is dated, and the V6 engine is thirsty. Although the XT6 shares many of its foundations and mechanical components with the GMC Acadia, its appearance would lead you to believe otherwise. In terms of style, the Cadillac has a distinct appearance and interior.
All-wheel drive and front-wheel drive are available options, but the turbocharged four-cylinder is also available. A torque-vectoring rear differential is included in the Sport model, but even so, it falls short of rivals like the Audi Q7 and BMW X5. It’s more like the Acura MDX or the Lincoln Aviator in that it’s better suited for sophisticated family transportation.
2024 Cadillac XT6 Redesign
With only minimal updates for 2024, Cadillac’s midsize SUV will remain mostly the same. A new Sport variant comes with Brembo brakes with red-painted calipers, while Platinum models get a steering wheel covered in Modeno leather instead of Turin leather. The Platinum package’s leather-wrapped steering wheel now has Modena leather instead of Turin leather, and a new set of 21-inch alloy wheels is offered. Power-folding outside mirrors are now standard, and unique 21-inch wheels are optional.
Brembo brakes with red calipers are standard on the Sport model. Power-folding exterior mirrors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic warning are now standard features on all new cars. The color scheme for the outside has also been altered. The exterior styling of the 2024 Cadillac XT6 is stunning, as is typical of recent Cadillacs. The vertical LED daytime running lights draw attention to the slim LED headlights and a sizeable gloss-black grille with a distinctive mesh pattern on the Sport trim level. As standard, all models include a sunroof and roof rails and a roof spoiler and colossal twin exhaust tips.
Interior
The second row of the Cadillac may be configured with either two captain’s chairs or a three-seat bench, depending on the model. You can fit three passengers in the third row of any XT6. Compared to Audi’s Q7 and BMW’s X5, the XT6’s inside embellishments fall short. There is only enough room for three carry-on bags in the cargo area. In contrast, if you lower the rear two rows, you can fit 31 suitcases. The XT6 is a better option if you frequently move large and cumbersome luggage since it can accommodate four cases behind the third row of the Q7, but only 25 with the seats folded down.
Soft-touch plastics and aluminum-look accents balance out the black-only synthetic leather in the base model. Still, there are rougher plastics even in the Premium Luxury and Sport models, which receive genuine leather. The premium luxury trim is trimmed with a carbon-look 3D plastic, while the exotic wood trim is trimmed with exotic wood. Jet Black, Cirrus, and Dark Auburn are the color options for this item. To access Jet Black or Maple Sugar semi-aniline leather finishes, you’ll need to pay up to $11,350 for a custom package.
Engine
With 238 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, the primary engine for the Cadillac XT6 in 2024 is an uninspiring 2.0-liter four-banger. Unlike previous Cadillac vehicles, the engine feels like an asthmatic smoker with emphysema pretending to be Fred Flinstone under the hood. The 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horses and 271 lb-ft of torque is better still, but be cautious while accelerating out of traffic due to the twitchy throttle. A smooth and silky nine-speed automatic is included with either engine, which helps hide the shortcomings of the less powerful unit.
The smaller 2.0L engine benefits from forced induction by feeling more responsive and performing better than the competition. A 9-speed automatic transmission is standard on both machines, and power is transmitted to the front wheels only by default; all-wheel drive is available as an option. The 0-60 mph time of 7.7 seconds isn’t the fastest in the category, but it’s still a decent time. The XT6 takes over 15 seconds to complete a quarter-mile sprint, which is to be expected for such a large SUV.
2024 Cadillac XT6 price and release date
The price of the Cadillac XT6 is high. With a starting MSRP of $48,595 in the United States, the Luxury is the entry-level model in the series. You can purchase the mid-level Premium Luxury for $52,920, while the top-of-the-line Sport trim, which comes with AWD by default, costs $58,295. At least $75,000 is required to get the Cadillac XT6 with all the bells and whistles you want.
