2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ: The Ultimate Luxury Electric SUV – Cadillac has shown off the 2025 Escalade IQ, the first electric version of its famous Escalade SUV. This beautiful car has all the luxury, speed, and technology of the Escalade, plus the fuel economy, environmental friendliness, and new ideas of an electric car. Prices for the Escalade IQ will start at about $130,000 when it goes on sale in the summer of 2024.
The Escalade IQ is built on GM’s Ultium platform, which lets different battery setups and power levels work together. Both Luxury and Sport models of the Escalade IQ will have all-wheel drive. The Luxury model has 680 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, and the Sport model has 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. Both types will be able to go more than 300 miles on a single charge and will be able to use 800V public DC fast charging.
The Escalade IQ will also have a beautiful interior, with a curvy 55-inch linear LED screen that goes across the dashboard. The screen will have two touchscreens, one for the driver and one for the front passenger. Both will have Google Built-In software installed. This means that people will be able to use Google services like Maps, YouTube, Assistant, and more right from their cars. The lower touchscreen will handle the temperature, the lights, and the power door opener if it is equipped.
The Escalade IQ will also have a number of high-tech features and tools, such as
– AKG Assist is a voice-controlled system that can help you find your way, entertain you, and give you safety information.
– Connected Cameras Vision: A system with night vision and virtual reality modes that uses multiple cameras to give a full view of the area around the car.
– Braking: A system that can put on the brakes immediately if a crash is about to happen or if a person is detected.
– Super Cruise is a hands-free driving system that can change lanes when needed and work on suitable roads.
– OnStar is a paid service that can help you in an emergency, diagnose problems with your car, protect you from theft, and more.
Inside the Escalade IQ, there will be soft leather seats, wood trim, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. The cabin will be very roomy and luxurious. The seats will be able to heat, cool, massage, and ventilate, and the front seats will have power bolsters. There will also be an optional Executive Second-Row Seating Package for the Escalade IQ. This will change the bench seat to two individual seats, each with a centre desk. If you fold down the second and third rows, the Escalade IQ can hold up to 119 cubic feet of stuff.
The sound system in the Escalade IQ will also be very good, with up to 40 AKG speakers. A Studio Reference 36-Speaker Audio System will be part of the system and will make the sound like you’re at a show. There will also be a Conversation Enhancement tool in the system that will use mics and speakers to make users’ sounds louder.
Design: Exterior and Interior
The Escalade IQ will look different from its gas-powered brother because it will have a sleek, futuristic appearance. The Escalade IQ will have a unique front end with a thin grille that will hold the charge port and the Cadillac crest. There will also be an adjustable headlamp system in the Escalade IQ that will change the lights’ strength and direction based on the road conditions. For the Luxury model, the Escalade IQ will come with a 24-inch seven-spoke alloy wheel with a diamond-cut face and high-gloss black pockets. For the Sport model will come with a 24-inch seven-spoke alloy wheel with a mask-and-polish face and machine-cut high-gloss black pockets and inserts. On the outside, you can choose from Deep Space Metallic, Summit White, Luna Metallic, and Midnight Steel Frost for the Escalade IQ.
The Escalade IQ’s interior will be based on the idea of “Nouveauluxe,” which Cadillac defines as “a new expression of luxury that is more personal, more expressive, and more connected.” Inside, there will be soft leather seats with Backen Black highlights, backlit wood trim, metal accents, and carbon fibre inserts. You can choose from Harbor Blue Nouveauluxe, Camelia Nouveauluxe, Jet Black Nouveauluxe, and Whisper Beige Nouveauluxe for the inside.
When designing the inside of the Escalade IQ, the goal will also be to give people a smooth tech experience. The curvy 55-inch LED screen will be the dashboard’s main feature, giving you access to many functions and features. The screen will have three parts: a touchscreen for the driver that shows information like speedometer, battery level, range, navigation, and more; a touchscreen for the front passenger that lets them change the climate, entertainment, and other settings; and a touchscreen below that controls the climate, lighting, and power door opening. The panel will also have real knobs and haptic input to make it easy to use.
The Escalade IQ will also have a digital rearview mirror with a camera that will make it easy to see what’s behind you. Also, the Escalade IQ will have a head-up display that will show things like speed, navigation, and alarms on the window.
Powertrain
GM’s Ultium battery system will power the Escalade IQ. This system is made up of pouch-shaped cells that can be stacked horizontally or vertically to make different battery combinations. The 200 kWh battery pack in the Escalade IQ will let it go more than 300 miles on a single charge. The battery pack will also be able to charge quickly at 800V DC, which will give the Escalade IQ an extra 195 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Both Luxury and Sport models of the Escalade IQ will have all-wheel drive. The Luxury model has 680 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, and the Sport model has 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. The Sport model will also have a mode called Velocity that will increase the power to 785 hp and 785 lb-ft for short bursts of speed. When going from 0 to 60 mph, the Escalade IQ should be able to do it in less than four seconds. Its top speed will be about 120 mph.
The Escalade IQ will also have regenerative brakes, which will take the kinetic energy from stopping and turn it into electricity to power the battery again. Regenerative brakes will be available at four levels, and the driver will be able to choose which level to use by using pedals behind the steering wheel. The system will also have a “one-pedal driving mode” where the driver can use only the gas pedal to speed up or slow down.
Release Date and Price
The Escalade IQ should go on sale in the summer of 2024 as a 2025 model-year car. Starting prices for the Escalade IQ will be around $130,000, which is a lot more than the gas-powered Escalade, which starts at $77,000. Some owners may be able to get the Escalade IQ for less money, though, thanks to federal tax credits and state benefits.
The Escalade IQ will go up against the Tesla Model X, the Lucid Gravity, and the Rivian R1S as high-end electric SUVs. The Escalade IQ is designed to draw buyers who want a high-end, roomy, highly advanced electric car that can provide great comfort and performance.
Cadillac wants to become an all-electric brand by 2030, and the Escalade IQ is a part of that plan. The Lyriq hatchback and the Celestiq sedan are two other electric cars that Cadillac has already shown off. It is also likely that Cadillac will soon release an electric version of its CT4-V and CT5-V luxury cars.
