Escalade 2022 Release Date, Price, Updates – The redesigned 2022 Cadillac Escalade certainly must be ready to hit the market next year with its prototype version recently caught by a spy photographer’s camera. The full-camouflage prototype caught in the company’s road testing is a long-wheelbase version of the 2022 Cadillac Escalade, claiming to have a longer rear door and tail section.
According to recent reports, the new Escalade will come with significant updates in design style, redesign, major weight savings, and adopting many of the company’s latest advanced technologies to compete with the Lincoln Navigator in the full-size luxury SUV segment. For this reason, the redesigned 2022 Escalade SUV must adopt the GMT T1XX body-on-frame platform intended for large SUVs and full-size pickup trucks type vehicles.
Escalade 2022 Exterior Design
The GMT T1XX platform is a successor and evolution of the GMT K2XX platform, but the T1XX reportedly uses more aluminium body panel materials than steel to reduce its weight. Both 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 have already used this General Motors T1XX platform. Speaking of its overall dimensions, the current model has a total length of 203.9 inches and 224.3 inches in the Escalade ESV, where the additional length is mostly aimed at the second and third rows.
Thanks to this new GMT T1XX platform, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade will be equipped with the independent rear suspension (replacing GM’s solid axles) and get a weight savings of up to 300 pounds than the current generation model. But, of course, this upgrade must have a significant impact on improving overall driving comfort and quality, as well as improved handling.
Interior Design
The redesigned 2022 Cadillac Escalade is expected to adopt a more evolved design language based on the Cadillac Escala concept car first introduced to the public at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. However, the front grille seems to have a mesh pattern similar to the Escala concept car, even though it’s covered in full camouflage. At the same time, the taillights are still positioned vertically above the rear fender.
The upcoming Escalade might also be equipped with Cadillac’s SuperCruise partially self-driving system. That was seen when the prototype version used a side mirror with a unique design and received additional sensors.
New 2022 Escalade Engine
Under the hood, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is likely to be powered by an updated 6.2-litre V8 naturally-aspirated engine with Dynamic Fuel Management System paired to a standard 10-speed automatic gearbox. Properly through four-wheel drive or rear-wheel-drive configuration. The GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado will most likely be the standard engine on the redesigned Escalade SUV.
Other powertrain options are likely to come with a twin-turbocharged 4.2-litre V8 engine rated at 500 – 550 horsepower and 553 – 627 pound-feet of torque. In addition, a hybrid version of the 2022 Escalade is expected to be offered when the new luxury SUV goes on sale at U.S. dealers.
Escalade 2022 Release Date And Price
Even though it’s too reckless to talk about prices, however, the 2022 Cadillac Escalade is scheduled to go on sale at the U.S. dealers this fall with an estimated starting price of around $80,000. At the same time, the long-wheelbase version Escalade ESV will probably be priced far more expensive. Apart from that, the release date for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade must be in the first half of 2020.
