Exterior
On the outside, the entire 2023 Cadillac Escalade range gets a fresh and thorough redesign. Though the bulky SUV retains its tall and muscular stance, the 2023 redesign adds a lot more aggression to it. Gone is the vertical headlamp housing of the previous generation and comes in slimmer and horizontal LED headlamps. Resonating with the face of its outgoing model though, there is a new vertical DRL that instantly reminds you of its roots.
However, the biggest change up front is the larger, lower and widener grille which looks more imposing than ever. The front bumper gets an update too and its seamless integration with the DRL’s give the Escalade a big and brawny face. There are also new 22’inch rims on tap along with even stronger body creases. This segment is where the Escalade leads, with 5 separate screens just for the front row and the plush comfortable leather seats. The car comes packed with tons of advanced features that make it to a different league. The big 38-inch screen houses 3 different screens, even though with these many screens the SUV manages to stay and feel luxurious due to the well-designed curved screen that is specially built to fit the cabin seamlessly. Cadillac has put in a lot of effort to make the car feel luxurious and it shows.
Being a full-size SUV there is plenty of room on offer not only in the front row but also in the 3rd row. The center console has a nice finish to it and feels plush, it also has a very well-designed refrigerator underneath it to keep your champagne chilled, when we say refrigerator I actually mean it as this is not like the boxes with air cooler built-in.

Powering the 2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV diesel is a new 3.0L turbocharged Duramax Diesel engine that puts out 277 hp and 460lb-ft of torque. This engine option is available with all the trims. The diesel engine comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and you get the choice of choosing a 2WD or 4WD. The new diesel engine means good MPG figures and mainly the torque it offers in the lower end, this improves the towing capacity of the SUV from 8,000 lbs to 8,200 lbs.
Comparing the diesel engines out of the three competitors here, the Escalade and Yukon share the same 3.0L Turbo diesel engine and make the same amount of horses. The Range Rover Diesel makes around 20 horses and 20 lb-ft of torque less compared to the other three. The Rover also gets only the AWD option whereas the GM family Escalade and Yukon get both 4WD and 2WD.

There is also the Escalade Diesel ESV Edition that starts at a base price of $80,490 and this comes with a longer frame meaning more space inside the already huge SUV.
