It took them some time to introduce a vehicle in the premium crossover segment, but it rocketed off the shelves once they did. Since 2017, Cadillac’s best-selling vehicle has been the XT5 SUV. The Caddy competes in the congested midsize and compact crossover segments, not with its brothers. Cadillac almost certainly felt the new XT5 would carve out a place for itself, neither as massive as the former nor as tiny as the latter.
Regrettably, it confronts double the number of rivals due to its central location and premium badge. With competitors like the BMW X3 and Audi Q5, the XT5 faces an uphill battle. Both have lower prices at the start, and a closer look at the sales figures shows that the US market isn’t as patriotic as one might think, with both German manufacturers selling more cars than Cadillac.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Redesign
Except for the fact that the Sport grade now has Brembo brakes, which are easily identified by their red calipers. Additionally, an optional 12-spoke 20-inch pearl-nickel alloy wheel is available. Additionally, a few minor adjustments to the basic and optional features have been made. Certain paint colors have been added, while others have been discontinued. The XT5 is readily identifiable as a Caddy because of its distinctive LED headlights across the range. LEDs are also used in the taillights and daytime running lights. Interior

The seats are really comfortable, but we feel the most important secret is the transfer of luxury features to the entry-level vehicle.
When the standard XT5 debuted, its specs were a little lacking. Cadillac has, however, continued to improve it over the years, the most recent additions being wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto last year. The high-resolution infotainment system is incredibly user-friendly. The inside is also impressive, with some remarkable design elements. Because the steering wheel is made of leather and buttons, but also has an old-fashioned wooden piece running under it, it’s interesting to look at.
Engine
There are two engine options available. The 2024 Cadillac XT5 four-cylinder turbocharged engine produces 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The normally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 engine from the previous generation produces 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque.The entry-level Luxury trim level only provides a little engine, but the mid-spec Premium Luxury trim level has both. The top-of-the-line model, marked by the “Sport” badge, is available only with the V6 engine and all-wheel drive.
The turbocharged four-cylinder engine generates power on par with competitors in the segment, and the weight difference is negligible. With this in mind, the Cadillac should outperform its German rivals, but it just does not. The biggest point of complaint is the gearbox, which was designed with fuel economy in mind rather than performance. It doesn’t have the snappiness of the Germans’ eight-speed automatic transmissions. It starts moving a little later than the Germans’ transmissions.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Release Date and Price
The starting price for the entry-level FWD Luxury model is $43,995. The FWD Premium Luxury model is priced at $48,795, while the V6 model is priced at $48,720. A four-wheel-drive system costs an additional $2,000 on top of the 2024 Cadillac XT5 base price. The top-of-the-line Sport AWD with standard all-wheel drive starts at $55,895. The $1,195 destination fee for the 2024 Cadillac XT5 is not included in these rates.
